NORWALK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Norwalk Police arrest a Brookside Elementary School math coach in connection with a student who was knocked unconscious in February.
Police say Stefanie Sanabria, 50, of Danbury, was working as a math coach on February 24 when she allegedly demonstrated a martial arts choke hold on three fifth-grade students in class.
One of the students lost consciousness.
A school nurse immediately treated the child.
An investigation began into Sanabria's actions and she was arrested on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Sanabria faces charges of second-degree strangulation, risk of injury to a minor, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Her bond is $20,000.
