Suspect arrested in Norwalk SONO Collection purse theft

NORWALK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Norwalk Police arrest a man from the Bronx in connection with a purse theft at the SONO Collection in Norwalk.

Police say they're charging Jesus Rodriguez with first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, and third-degree larceny.

Around 5 p.m. on December 28, 2024, police say Rodriguez was among two men and a women who stole ten handbags from Bloomingdales and ran from the store.

During the robbery, a security officer was sprayed in the face with an irritant, likely pepper spray or mace.

Video surveillance led to the identification of two suspects, Jesus Rodriguez and Evelyn Marreno.

Police in New Jersey arrested Marreno was arrested several weeks ago.

Both are suspected of carrying out several robberies in several states.

Rodriguez is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, and third-degree larceny.
