Devon Holt
Plainfield Police Department

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Plainfield police say the suspect they arrested for having a large amount of cocaine during a traffic stop assaulted a police officer.

Police say Devon Holt, 37, of Wauregan, was pulled over around 6:32 p.m. Tuesday for driving erratically on North Main Street in Moosup.

During an investigation, officers became suspicious narcotics were in the vehicle.

A K9 sniffed out a backpack that contained a soda can with a hidden compartment inside. Police say the compartment contained a "large" amount of crack cocaine.

Once at the police station, officers say Holt became uncooperative and assaulted an officer.

Holt was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interfering with Police and Assault on an Officer.

Holt was released on a $50,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on March 22, 2021 at 8:30 A.M.
