Norwich man charged with operating a drug factory

NORWICH, Conn(WTIC Radio)-As part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, police have arrested a city man for possessing a large amount of methamphetamine, weapons and other drugs, additionally charging him with operating a drug factory.

Police officers responded to Plain Hill Road Thursday afternoon at 4:30.

They seized 2 and a half kilograms of meth, two handguns, cash and other narcotics.

Joseph Wilk, 51, faces possession of methamphetamines and ecstasy, operating a drug factory and theft of a firearm.

Authorities said the arrest is the result of a combined effort by Norwich Police, US Postal Inspection Service and Groton Town Police.

Wilk today appears in Norwich Superior Court.
