Meriden, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-A female convicted felon faces charges after Meriden Police said she fired shots at a passing vehicle that had an infant and three adults inside.
Police responded to an area of West Main Street at North First Street just after three PM on Tuesday for a shots fired incident. They recovered a shell casing, the result of a domestic violence incident.
Police allege Meriden resident Shanice Perez, 23, ran from a party from which she was barred because of a full no contact protective order. Police said she fired a shot at the car that had the four occupants inside, including the infant. Nobody was injured. Police later arrested Perez at her West Main Street address. Police then discovered three 9 mm bullets and a firearm holster.
As a convicted felon, Perez is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
The firearm wasn't recovered. Police believe Perez hid it or passed it off to someone else.
Perez faces a host of charges including assault, violation of a protective order, and risk of injury to a minor.
Her bond is $1,500,000.
