
MILFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one person dead.
The incident took place on Housatonic Avenue, near the intersection of West Main Street around 5:55 a.m.
Police said a suspect entered a home and confronted two residents before fatally shooting one of the victims, later identified as Chaz Wright.
The suspect then fled on foot to a nearby vehicle and drove to Cummings Beach in Stamford, where he shot himself before he could be taken into custody, according to police.
The suspect is in serious condition and being treated for his injuries at Stamford Hospital.
Police said it was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public.
