BROOKFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Brookfield Police say they're investigating a suspicious package that was brought to their department on Friday.
Around 2:15 p.m., officers learned a package had arrived at their headquarters.
A substance was inside the package turned out to be non-hazardous.
The Connecticut department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Danbury Fire Department helped with the investigation.
“We remind the public to report all suspicious devices, packages, and substances immediately. However, for your safety and the safety of others, do not handle, move, or transport suspicious items. Please leave them in place and contact 911 — Do not bring them into the Police Department," said the department in a statement on their Facebook page.
