Tolland, Conn (WTIC Radio)-After a tip to the Department of Children and Families led to an investigation, a Tolland High School teacher faces charges for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student nine years ago.
An investigation revealed the teenage student and the suspect, later identified as Kris Coffey, 43 of Coventry. The inappropriate relationship began during the 2014-2015 school year. According to state police, Coffey provided a confession to troopers.
Coffey faces two counts of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of fourth degree of sexual assault.
He appears in Rockville Superior Court today.
