Tesla has found a way around Connecticut's rule against the direct sales of cars by carmakers to drivers.
Connecticut has always been a challenge for the EV maker because the state requires carmakers to sell to independent dealers, from whom consumers can then buy their vehicles. That has not matched Tesla's business model, in which it owns its showroom.
Now, Tesla has opened a showroom at the Shops at the Mohegan. Since the casino is located on tribal lands, Connecticut's rule about dealerships does not apply there.
The new Tesla showroom is advertised as being open seven days a week.
