Waterbury, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Police have arrested an off-duty Hartford Police officer for allegedly shooting a person in the left hand Sunday morning.
Waterbury Police responded to Kingsley Court just before five AM. They discovered a male, 37, who had been shot in the left hand. He was treated at Saint Mary's Hospital and later released.
Police determined the victim had been involved in an earlier altercation on Society Hill Road in Waterbury.
The suspect has been identified as Gregory Thomas, 39 of Wolcott. Police believe Thomas shot the victim.
Thomas has been charged with assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 emergency call.
Hartford police said Thomas has been suspended without pay and Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation.
