Three arrested in Manchester girl's death

Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - Manchester police have arrested the parents and driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a four-year-old girl earlier this year.

Tarequl Ambia, 49, of Manchester faces a number of charges including misconduct with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and using a handheld device behind the wheel.


Police say it was the early morning hours of June 10 when he hit Akari Cortes on East Center Street.

Also arrested were Akari's parents, Taylor Biron, 28, and Nathael Cortes, 26, both of Manchester.

They're charged with risk of injury to a minor.

Akari was pronounced dead at Connecticut Children's in Hartford.

Ambia is free on $50,000 bond.

Biron and Nathael Cortes posted bonds of $25,000 apiece.

All three are due in court next month.
