Three men arrested in Berlin ATM theft investigation

BERLIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Berlin Police make three arrests in connection with an ATM theft in town in February.

Police are arrested Francisco Ayala, 24, of Ansonia, Donnie James, 22, of Bridgeport, and Edgar Crespo, 34, of Bridgeport.

The three men are accused of first trying to steal an ATM machine during overnight hours on February 5 at the Mobil Gas Station at 1376 Berlin Turnpike, but they didn't get away with it.

The same group of men are accused of successfully stealing an ATM at the Pit Stop Gas Station at 458 Berlin Turnpike during overnight hours on February 20.

They're all charged with two-counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, third-degree larceny, two counts of third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief.

Bond for all three suspects is set at $300,000 each.
