TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest a Torrington man in connection with a sexual assault that happened in Goshen in 2021.

Daniel Brignolo, 25, of Torrington, described as a former EMT and firefighter in Goshen, is accused of sexually assaulting a victim at his house following a party at the Goshen Fire Department.

When rain ruined plans, the party ended up at Brignolo's house. The sexual assault happened when everyone else had gone home and the victim was in-and-out of consciousness after alcohol had been served.

The next day, the victim awoke with bruising, abdominal pain, and head pain - as if someone had been pulling their hair.

The victim went to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to have a sexual assault kit collected.

After two years of investigation, an arrest warrant was developed for Brignolo.

Brignolo turned himself in to face charges of giving alcohol to a minor and sexually assaulting a physically helpless victim in the second degree.

Brignolo is free on a $15,000 bond and is due in court on August 16, 2023.
