
NORWICH, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Norwich Police say a train struck and seriously injured a man Thursday evening.
A report came in around 8 p.m. a train struck a man in the area of Trading Cove Drive and Lucas Park Road in Norwich.

Emergency response personnel learned a man was struck by a New England Central Railroad Train as it crossed the trestle bridge that spans the Trading Cove, near the Norwich-Uncasville border.
The man was quickly found near the trestle. Responders used boats from area fire departments to bring the man to land, where an ambulance was waiting to transport him to William W. Backus Hospital.
The accident prompted a large response from a number of emergency response teams, including Connecticut State Police, Mohegan Tribal Fire, and Norwich Fire.
