Two arrests were made election day at a Bridgeport polling place, with police saying that both incidents involved Bridgeport City Council members facing charges.
Police call the two incidents separate and say that the first one happened before 4:30 in the afternoon. That's when police responding to a call about someone causing a disturbance arrested Council Member
Samia Suliman and charged her with breach of peace.
A little less than an hour later, another council member, Maria Pereira was charged at the same JFK campus polling place
in Bridgeport. Pereira is accused of assaulting a 70-year-old woman.
