FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating two crashes that shut down both sides of I-84 on Tuesday night.
Troop H responded to a multi-vehicle accident on I-84 Westbound at Exit 37 around 7:13 p.m. Tuesday evening. Five patients were transported from the scene of the accident to nearby hospitals. Some injuries were described as serious.
Around 8:20 p.m., a State Trooper who had been working at the scene of the Westbound accident reported their assigned cruiser had gotten into a crash with a civilian vehicle on the Eastbound side. The driver of the car that crashed into the Cruiser had minor injuries. The cruiser was unoccupied at the time of the crash, according to State Police.
The crashes are under investigation.
