WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Two large barges that washed ashore in West Haven will be going back to their home soon.
The West Haven Fire Department had plans Friday to attach a tow line to the barges to attach them to the tug boat that will return them to the cement company where the vessels managed to a escape.
In an update later in the morning, the City decided to suspend operations for the time being due to high tide and strong winds.
The process will begin Saturday morning when the water is deemed safer for the project.
Large tires are being put between the vessels and the seawall to cushion the noise and vibrations that residents may be able to hear nearby.
