Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - Manchester police have arrested a man they say was in the middle of a vandalism spree early Thursday morning.

The call came in just before 12:30 a.m. to the area of Cottage and Main Streets.

That's where police say they saw Daniel Ceasar, 37, of Manchester in the middle of smashing windows with a pair of rebar rods.

Police say they noticed several businesses had been damaged with doors and windows broken.

Ceasar was ordered to drop the rods, police say, but didn't comply.

He was then hit with a taser, which had no effect.

The suspect then approached a police cruiser, striking a side window.

Ceasar was ultimately tackled by police and taken into custody.

There were no injuries.

Ceasar is charged with seven counts of criminal mischief, along with breach of peace, threatening and other offenses.
