VERNON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The town of Vernon is hosting a COVID-19 booster shot clinic this upcoming Wednesday to help address challenges people have faced in getting an appointment for the booster.
Many people have had trouble getting a timely appointment for their booster shot, Communications Specialist for the town David Owens said.

"We have received calls that people are being scheduled as far out as mid-January by pharmacies and other providers," Owens said in a written statement.
To help ease the challenge of booking an appointment, the town is hosting a booster shot clinic on Wednesday, December 23 at the Priority Urgent Care on Hartford Turnpike.
The clinic will offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine booster shots. People are asked to bring their vaccination card, ID and insurance card.
Though walk-ins are welcome, people are also encouraged to sign up beforehand since those with appointments will receive priority.
The clinic follows a clinic that the town hosted this week.
"We were able to provide booster shots to 446 people at our clinic this past Wednesday," Owens said.
The booster clinic on Wednesday, December 22, is being held at Priority Urgent Care at 375 Hartford Turnpike from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
