West Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two people were rescued after their boat capsized Thursday in West Haven.
It was around 9:00 p.m. that police patrolling the April Street boat ramp were notified by an individual that they could not get in touch with the two who weren't answering their cell phones.
Drone pilots were deployed and police boats launched to try and locate the two.
A resident contacted police to report yelling from the water and a flare that had been fired.
Thermal imaging technology led rescuers to the two about 2,600 feet from shore.
They reported that their vessel was struck by a wake from another boat.
Both were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
