Waterbury Police arrest suspect in fatal accident

(WATERBURY, CONN) - A Waterbury man has been arrested in an accident Monday night that killed a city woman, police said.

Kevin Brevetti, 35, ran a red light near Route eight North and Aurora Street, authorities said.

His car struck a pickup truck that Jacqueline Sheppard, 58, was driving, and later struck a third vehicle, officials said. Sheppard died later at the hospital, police said.

Brevetti fled the scene with another woman in his vehicle, according to police.

Brevetti is facing 11 charges including second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving and illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension.

Brevetti is expected to be arraigned today. His bond is $900,000.
