WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police say they've collected 57 total unwanted firearms during the Fall 2024 gun buyback event they held over the weekend.
Held in partnership with the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation, the event on October 5, 2024, took in 57 firearms anonymously and without question in an attempt to cut down on the risk of accidents, suicides, and gun-related incidents.
"By turning in these firearms, our community is actively helping reduce gun violence and accidents," said Chief Fernando Spagnolo.
