Hot temperatures and hazy skies are looming over Connecticut residents.
A heat advisory is in effect through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
On top of temperatures in their 90s or close to 100, smoke from Canadian wildfires are spreading over Southern New England.
The temperatures have led to Connecticut enacting its hot weather protocol through at least 5 p.m. on Thursday. Residents in need of a cooling center can call 211 or go to this website.
Residents who may struggle with poorer air quality are being advised to stay indoors with air conditioning, if possible.
