Meriden, Conn./WTIC Radio - Meriden police have arrested a woman and charged her in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash from last month.
Emergency personnel were alerted in the early morning hours of October 2nd to a crash involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Colony and Camp Streets.
The motorcyclist, Maxwell Lafayette, 32, of Meriden was rushed to MidState Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the driver of the motor vehicle, Mercedes Conya-Malan, 38, didn't stop for a blinking red light and collided with Lafayette's bike.
In addition, police say Conya-Malan didn't have a driver's license and the car she was driving was not registered or insured.
Conya-Malan is charged with negligent homicide, operating an unregisterd motor vehicle, improper use of registration plates, failure to maintain insurance and other offenses.
She is free on bond and due in court November 22nd.
