MERIDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Meriden police are investigating a crash that killed a woman Sunday.
Police say a woman driving a 2016 Buick Verano slammed into a telephone pole around 12:44 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Kensington and Gracey Avenues.
Due to the damage to the vehicle, officers smashed the back window of the car to access the victim and get her out of the car.
The victim was transported to nearby Midstate Medical Center, where she later died.
Police are not releasing the victim's identity at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
