New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - Dr. Henry Lee has died.
The world-renowned forensic scientist founded the University of New Haven's forensic science division and the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science.
He'd been affiliated with UNH since 1975.
The university says Lee died at his home in Henderson, Nevada.
Lee served as the state's chief criminalist and as director of the state police forensic science lab.
He also served as commissioner of the Department of Public Safety.
Lee testified in some of the nation's highest profile cases, including O.J. Simpson's murder trial, the JonBenet Ramsey murder case, and investigations into the murders of Laci Peterson and Chandra Levy.
Dr. Henry Lee was 87.
