(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - Police in Waterbury have released the name of a man killed in a crash early Wednesday morning.
Thirty-one-year-old Christopher Ortiz was from Watertown.
Waterbury police say just after midnight, they were dispatched to an area of South Main Street and Verzier Street.
When they arrived, they found a 2005 Nissan Altima that had traveled from the northbound to the southbound lanes of traffic which had struck a parked tractor trailer that was unoccupied.
Ortiz was removed from the car and rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
There's no word on what caused the crash, which is still under investigation.
