An estimated 567,000 portable battery chargers sold at Costco stores nationwide have been recalled after 120 reports of the devices overheating while charging, with two being linked to residential fires.

The recall was posted last week by the Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with the Michigan company that makes the products.

The affected portable charger is the myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000mAh portable charger with model numbers AO10FK-A, AO10FK-B, and AO10FK-C.

The charges were sold for around $40 online and in-store at Costco from January 2022 through November 2023.

myCharge, a Birmingham, Michigan-based company, said it had received five reports of the chargers overheating, two of which included the consumers’ homes catching on fire, the recall notice shared.

Costco shared that it had received 115 returns for the product, with customers mentioning melting, expanding, fire, burning, smoking, sparking, or exploding.

The overheating has not resulted in any injuries that require medical attention, the notice shared.

Owners of the portable charges are being advised to stop using them immediately and contact myCharge for a replacement device.

The company can be called from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST Monday through Friday at (888) 251-2026 or emailed at compliance@mycharge.com. For more information, visit the company’s website here.
