It seems the fast food wars have officially moved on from chicken sandwiches, as chains have begun to focus on other parts of their menu to take out the competition.

The current battle is taking place in the world of fast food dessert, and the latest offering comes courtesy of the biggest of them all, McDonalds. The fast food chain is currently testing out a new peanut butter flavored McFlurry, and fans are desperate to give it a try.

McDonalds has offered plenty of new menu items over the years, but the one area they seem to keep things simple with is the McFlurry. For years, the popular dessert item has been offered only with vanilla ice cream and either Oreo or M&M’s mixed in.

However, the fast food chain is apparently ready to make a change, as some fans recently spotted a new option at a McDonalds in Pasadena, California. The west coast location is currently offering a peanut butter McFlurry that comes with vanilla soft serve mixed with peanut butter, chocolate, and cookies, according to Chew Boom.

The McFlurry is being sold for $3.59. It is unknown if or when McDonalds plans to expand the new McFlurry flavor to other locations, but so far reviews have been positive. Hopefully the new flavor is spotted around town soon enough.
