Working in retail can often be stressful, especially when a naked guy is running around your place of work in the early morning hours. That’s what some Florida Walmart workers had to deal with earlier this week, according to the Lake City Police Department.
When they arrived at the store on U.S. Highway 90 at around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers from the department were told that a completely nude man was chasing employees around the parking lot and had fled towards a wooded area north of the store. A canvass of the area revealed that man still among the trees.
According to the police department’s press release on the incident, the man was on his hands and knees when they found him. Although officers tried to communicate with him, the department said he “remained largely nonverbal and incoherent.” He also seemed agitated and paranoid, the authorities said.
“Concerned for his safety, officers requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and placed the subject in hand restraints for his own protection,” the department added.
After he was escorted from the woods to a patrol vehicle and transported by EMS to HCA Lake Medical Center for evaluation, he was unable to provide identifying information at the hospital. Eventually, he identified himself as “Raheem.”
However, several attempts to identify him were unsuccessful and he was medically cleared for transport to the Columbia County Detention Facility as an arrestee. There, a Rapid ID fingerprint scan identified the man as Rakime Johnson.
Lake City police ask anyone with information about this incident to contact the department at (386) 752-4343. People can also report tips anonymously through the LCPD TIPS line at (386) 719-2068 or to Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at (386) 754-7099.
This isn’t the only concerning case regarding a nude or partially nude arrestee Audacy has reported on this week. WWJ Newsradio reported that a woman woke up in her Northern Michigan home last Saturday to find a man without pants who had defecated in her trash can and left “fecal matter” on her furniture. He left when she confronted him, according to the report.
