
(Bridgeport, Conn./WTIC) - An investigation is underway into an officer involved shooting in Bridgeport.
State police have now assumed that investigation into the incident, standard protocol when an officer discharges his or her service weapon.
The incident took place just after 10:00 last night.
State troopers say a Bridgeport police officer tied to a federal law enforcement task force was involved in the shooting at Main and Catherine Streets.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, treated and released.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting aren't quite clear at this point.
CSP says none of its personnel was involved.
The Stamford's state's attorney is also involved in the investigation along with the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad.
