(New Haven, Conn./WTIC) - Police in New Haven are investigating after they say a convenience store clerk was shot Wednesday evening.
It was a little before 6:30 that officers say they were alerted to gunfire at Huntington and Shepard Streets in the city's Newhallville section.
When they arrived, police were directed to a 37-year-old man in the store at 453 Huntington Street who'd been shot in the back.
He was rushed to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.
It was determined later by detectives that the shot was fired outside the store, crashing through the window and hitting the victim. The intended target is unknown at this point.
