(Hartford, Conn. WTIC)-Senate Republican leader Kevin Kelly (Stratford) says the state capitol needs to re-open to "get the people back in the building."
Kelly says the current legislative process, by Zoom, excludes the public from participating. He says as many as 80-percent are cutoff during the public hearing hearing process by elected officials.
Kelly says the Governor has used science to guide his decisions on Covid, so now is the time to reopen the state capitol, with proper masks and protocols.
As for the executive orders, Kelly says he's deferring comment because hasn't seen any language in the bills. The House is expected to take up the matter Thursday.
