SOUTHBURY, Connecticut (WTIC radio)
Officials in Southbury have decided to give a four day work week a try.
The trial period will begin June 1st, this year to August 31st.
Town employees will be working the same number of hours each week, but with new times.
Monday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Tuesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Wednesday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
One advantage is local residents will have access to services at night.
The four day work week could be formally adopted by mid August depending on feedback from residents and employees
Vernon, Plainville, and Redding already use a four-day work week.
