(Storrs, Conn. WTIC)-The UConn Board of Trustees voted unanimously to rename the Thomas J. Dodd Center for Research, the Dodd Center for Human Rights.

The move is to promote human rights, encompassing the accomplishments of Thomas J. Dodd and son Chris Dodd.

Thomas Dodd served as Connecticut Senator and as executive trial council at the Nuremberg Trials.

Chris Dodd said his father considered that his greatest accomplishment. The issue of Human Rights dominated conversations at the family dinner table, he said.

Chris Dodd served Connecticut 42 years as a Congressman and Senator.
