HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—All Hartford HealthCare COVID-19 vaccination sites will welcome walk-ins starting Friday, officials announced.

According to Hartford HealthCare officials, walk-ins will be allowed at sites across the state due to the success of a pilot program done earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Hartford HealthCare tested out walk-in availability at three different sites, including the Connecticut Convention Center.

Chief Clinical Integration Officer Dr. James Cardon explained that the option needed to be tested out to see what the demand would be and to ensure there was enough supply on hand to vaccinate any walk-ins.

The healthcare system will also be holding its first Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinic this Saturday at the Xfinity Center in Hartford, Cardon said.
