Curt Schilling is returning to the digital airwaves.

Joy.

the Red Sox have an apathy problem

The all-time great postseason performer and politically polarizing figure is starting a new baseball podcast on OutKick, reports Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports. OutKick, which was founded by right-wing provocateur Clay Travis, is a conservative-leaning sports and culture site.

“I’m excited to be teaming with a group of motivated, focused people, who are intent on making OutKick a leader and most excited to talk baseball, and only baseball,” said Schilling in a statement. “After meeting the team and the opportunity to get back to the sport I love and focus only on that was too appealing to pass up.”

Schilling, 56, worked as an MLB analyst for ESPN from 2010-16, and was named the lead analyst on “Sunday Night Baseball” in 2014. The three-time World Series champion was an excellent commentator; however, his increasingly conspiratorial political takes cost him his job.

ESPN fired Schilling after multiple social media controversies. The last straw came when he shared a derisive post on Facebook about transgender people using public restrooms that correspond with their gender identity.

Since then, Schilling’s social media behavior has only become more unhinged. He’s joked about lynching journalists and regurgitated QAnon views, as well as supported the attack on the U.S Capitol by supporters of former president Donald Trump.

Last year, he fell short of Hall of Fame induction for the 11th time, suffering a rebuke from the veterans’ committee. As it turns out, a panel of his peers rejected him with a lower voting percentage than the baseball writers whom he loves to malign.
