SAN FRANCISCO -- All the stars were out at Chase Center on Tuesday night.
Before the Warriors hosted the Los Angeles Clippers, Klay Thompson warmed up by getting up some shots against Will Ferrell dressed up as Jackie Moon. NBC Sports Bay Area cameras also caught video of newly-minted baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz and fellow former baseball star Alex Rodriguez chopping it up with Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
During the game, Big Papi and A-Rod were sitting courtside next to Warriors owner Joe Lacob across the floor from the Golden State bench.
The two players were former adversaries in the American League East from 2004 to 2016 while Ortiz played for the Boston Red Sox and Rodriguez played for the New York Yankees. Now they’ve become close friends while working together for Fox Sports’ MLB coverage team.
The duo received a mixed reception when showed on the big screen. Some Giants fans are probably bitter to see Ortiz voted into the Hall of Fame despite steroids concerns, while Barry Bonds missed out for the 10th and final time on the BBWAA writers ballot earlier this year.
