The Vaughn Grissom era with the Red Sox is over

Instant reaction to the Kyle Schwarber signing

ORLANDO - The Red Sox are moving on from Vaughn Grissom.

Grissom, the player received back from the Braves in the trade of Chris Sale prior to the 2024 season, has been dealt once again. This time, it's the Red Sox who are sending Grissom to the Angels in exchange for minor-league outfielder Isaiah Jackson.

The 24-year-old Grissom ultimately played in just 31 games with the Red Sox during his time in the Boston organization, battling injuries much of his tenure.

Last season, Grissom spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Worcester, hitting .270 with a .783 OPS in 96 games. Having originally competed for the second base job with the Red Sox through last spring training, Grissom would first base, second base, shortstop and third base with the WooSox.

Jackson was an 8th-round pick in last year's MLB Draft, appearing in just 10 Single-A games to begin his professional career. Standing at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, the lefty hitter managed 18 home runs in 60 games for Arizona State during the 2025 season.
