Add another interesting new name to the list of candidates for the Patriots' offensive coordinator job.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, New England is interviewing Adrian Klemm for the position. Klemm is currently the associate head coach, run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the Oregon Ducks.
He was also Bill Belichick's first-ever draft pick as Patriots head coach, as New England took the former offensive lineman in the second round (46th overall) back in 2000. Klemm spent five years with the Patriots, but played just 26 total games with 10 starts. He was part of their first three Super Bowl teams, though.
Klemm began his coaching career at SMU from 2008-11. He was UCLA's run game coordinator and offensive line coach from 2012-16 and their associate head coach from 2014-16 as well. His only NFL coaching experience came with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was the offensive line coach in 2021 and the assistant offensive line coach for the two seasons before that.
Klemm has never held the offensive coordinator title, although he obviously had a lot of responsibility at both UCLA and Oregon. This past season, Oregon's offense ranked sixth in the country in yards per game, 10th in points per game, and 12th in rushing yards per game.
Klemm joins Bill O'Brien, Nick Caley and Keenan McCardell as known candidates for the Patriots' offensive coordinator job.
