The Patriots are adding a wide receiver with a famous last name to their roster, according to a new report.
According to a post on X from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, New England is signing Brenden Rice, son of San Francisco 49ers legend, Jerry Rice.
The new addition was a star receiver at USC, where he had 12 touchdowns in his senior year. Rice started his college career at the University of Colorado before transferring to join the Trojans and entered the draft with a year of eligibility left.
The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Rice in the seventh round last year and he dressed for three games during the 2024 season. The Chargers waived him at the end of training camp.
