6 rings prospect preview: quarterbacks

If you're worried about the Patriots doing their due diligence on the quarterbacks at the top of the NFL Draft -- don't be.

According to director of scouting Eliot Wolf, New England is set to meet with the consensus top quarterback prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine his week in USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye, and LSU's Jayden Daniels.

"When you look throughout the league, most of the quarterbacks are first rounders," Wolf said of the quarterback position. "I think there's exceptions to be had... but I think just the league-wide understanding of how important that position is, and how important it is to have somebody there that can help you win games and get over the hump has changed league-wide."

Wolf was also asked about the traits he looks for in a quarterback:

"First of all, being someone that can elevate his teammates. Someone that your teammates wanna play for. I think that's an extremely underrated thing that people don't really talk about that much. Leadership's important, and obviously-- you know, physical talent. We wouldn't be talking about these guys if they weren't physically talented."

We dove into and ranked the 2024 NFL Draft quarterbacks on Monday's 6 Rings and Football Things. Check it out here.
