Sunday night in Buffalo, the Patriots (3-2) pulled off a thrilling 23-20 upset over the Bills (4-1) handing defending MVP Josh Allen his first loss of the 2025 season and loudly announcing to the rest of the league that it’s time to take New England seriously moving forward.
On Monday, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel joined The Greg Hill Show to discuss the biggest win of his New England coaching tenure thus far.
“Signature win is being thrown around for Drake Maye and yourself,” said WEEI’s Chris Curtis. “First two-game win streak in three years, which is hard to believe, given the success you had as a player here. What did last night mean to you personally?”
“Just happy for the players,” said Vrabel. “Happy that they could recognize they could prepare, and they could go out there on a big stage. And we talked about taking the next step, and that was the message last week. And I felt like they took that to heart, and they did that.
“About all the other stuff? I don't really know. I always like to think that there's things that are interesting and there's things that are important, and a two-game win streak is not very uncommon. And so somebody just recently said to me, ‘Man, that was unbelievable.’ I said, ‘No, it wasn't. It was very believable.’ And I don't want any of us in this organization to ever think that something is unbelievable.
“We're gonna prepare, we're gonna play to our style, we're gonna make adjustments, and we're gonna compete. But it's very believable, and so we'll have to do it again here [as] soon as I hang up this phone call, and that'll be what we do.”

Patriots are back on the road in Week 6 with a solid chance to make it three wins in a row, as they’ll head down to New Orleans (1-4) to take on the Saints.
As of publishing, the Patriots are 3.5-point road favorites at FanDuel. You can get them on the moneyline at -210, and the total sits at 45.5.
If you look on paper, a win streak of even longer than three straight is in play.
Here’s how the rest of New England’s schedule plays out:
- Week 6 @ Saints (1-4)
- Week 7 @ Titans (1-4)
- Week 8 vs. Browns (1-4)
- Week 9 vs. Falcons (2-2)
- Week 10 @ Buccaneers (4-1)
- Week 11 vs. Jets (0-5)
- Week 12 @ Bengals (2-3)
- Week 13 vs. Giants (1-4)
- Bye Week 14
- Week 15 vs. Bills (4-1)
- Week 16 @ Ravens (1-4)
- Week 17 @ Jets (0-5)
- Week 18 vs. Dolphins (1-4)
I’m not saying the Patriots will be winners of six in a row as they head into Tampa in Week 10. But what I am saying is it’s not impossible.

And by my count, there’s only two more games this season against teams with winning records - one of which being a home game against the team they just took down in dramatic fashion on Sunday Night Football.
Sunday’s win in Buffalo makes a schedule that already was easy on paper look even easier for a team now one game over .500.
Tune in each and every Monday throughout the football season to Patriots Monday on WEEI. Head coach Mike Vrabel joins The Greg Hill Show at 6:30 a.m. ET, and quarterback Drake Maye joins WEEI Afternoons.
