C-Mac sounds alarm on Giants offensive line: 'They were two steps behind'

The Giants allowed seven sacks in a 40-0 rout at the hands of Micah Parsons and the Cowboys, turning up the concerns over the offensive line to an all-out panic about the unit’s ability to protect Daniel Jones and generate any kind of sustained offense.

C-Mac is part of the group that is sounding the alarm on the offensive line, which looked completely overmatched for the entire night.

“Evan Neal is a problem. The interior offensive line is a problem,” C-Mac said. “It wasn’t just Micah Parsons or Demarcus Lawrence. It was everyone on the defensive line. There were seven sacks. Daniel Jones was running for his life on every single play. The backups were beating the Giants offensive line.

“Everybody on this team got beat by the man in front of him.”

Even Andrew Thomas, one of the best blindside blockers in the league, was whistled for a costly false start that stalled the only promising drive of the night, when he was lined up in front of Parsons. Meanwhile, Jones was running for his life all night, managing just 63 passing yards in the type of game that has C-Mac, and other fans, very concerned about the offensive line protecting their quarterback against the better teams in the NFC, like the Eagles twice, the Cowboys again later this season, or the 49ers in Week 3.

“Whether it’s Neal getting beat or the rookie center getting beat, or having the guards pull and be three seconds behind the defensive end, already in the quarterback’s face,” C-Mac said. “They were two steps behind the Cowboys on every play.

“It looks like Neal is battling for a starting position. If the Giants had anyone else who could actually play, his job might be in trouble…Neal needs to look in the mirror. They got absolutely embarrassed. I don’t even show the offensive line the tape. I burn that tape. There is nothing to learn from there.”
