The Giants have been in the midst of a dream week, bringing in big-time playmakers like Kenny Golladay to boost their offense, but one recent addition may not wind up with the team after all.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, tight end Kyle Rudolph's two-year deal with New York has hit a "snag," and it centers around a foot injury with Rudolph that may require surgery.
Per Garafolo, the concern arose after Rudolph's physical, and the two sides are now discussing how to move forward. Rudolph's $14 million deal was agreed to but not yet signed, which could give the Giants a way out if they feel Rudolph won't be able to play significant time this season.
A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Rudolph missed the last four games of last season with a foot injury after starting all of the previous 12 games. The 31-year-old has otherwise been a durable and dependable tight end throughout his career, collecting 453 career receptions with 4,488 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns.
The Giants had hoped to pair Rudolph with tight end Evan Engram next season.
