It looks like dinner with Logan Ryan paid off.
According to a number of reports, including that of ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Giants have beefed up their secondary with the signing of former Titans cornerback Adoree' Jackson. He'll make $39 million over the course of a three-year deal, with incentives that could boost the price tag up to $44.5 million.
Evidently, Ryan was happy that his pitch helped to seal the deal, posting a gif that likely represented the sentiment of many members of the Giants fan base.
And the Giants should be cheering. Jackson has the 15th best Pro Football Focus grade (75.8) at the position since 2019 and is even better when you look solely at coverage, where he ranks behind just Jaire Alexander, Richard Sherman and Stephon Gilmore since 2018 (h/t Zack Rosenblatt of NJ Advanced Media).
Despite this, he was cut by the Titans in a cap-clearing move earlier this month, and Jackson was reportedly "blind-sided" by the news. His new contract with New York should help him to overcome the shock, as he was set to make just over $10 million in 2021 in Tennessee and now will make a good amount more.
Jackson joins a secondary that includes names like James Bradberry, Jabrill Peppers and the aforementioned Ryan, as they look to strengthen the defensive side of the ball.
