Not the way anyone wanted it to happen, but the Giants hit the scoreboard first in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day thanks to Graham Gano’s longest field goal of the year.

Big Blue had first-and-ten at the Dallas 17, but after a sack, a penalty, and incompletion, and an intentional grounding penalty, that became fourth-and-32 at the 39, leaving Gano to try a 57-yarder…which he nailed true blue right through the uprights to tie for the longest field goal in Giants history.

Gano has been a whiz from beyond 50 yards in his career, 4-for-4 this year and 36-for-55 in his career entering Thursday, but his season-long was 56 yards prior to the record-tying boot. Of course, Giants fans know all too well his career long, a 63-yarder he nailed while with Carolina in 2018 that beat the Giants at the final gun.

Now, however, he is etched in Big Blue history to the good, tied with Aldrick Rosas – who kicked a 57-yarder against Chicago on Dec. 2, 2018 – for the longest in franchise history.

Gano now also has four of the eight FG in Giants history from 55 yards or longer, as well.
