Giants cornerback Logan Ryan was on his regular spot with Moose and Maggie on Tuesday, and had an emotional response when asked if he felt his team, now 0-3 on the season, was close to turning things around.
“We lost a game by a last-minute field goal,” Ryan said. “That’s close. That’s the definition of close.”
Indeed, the Giants have now lost two straight games on late field goals, where a play or two the other way could have changed a loss into a win. But regardless, Big Blue is now in another early-season hole, which has fans frustrated about the direction of the franchise.
Ryan passionately disagrees with the sentiment that the Giants are a lost cause.
“The Chiefs are 1-2,” Ryan said. “Are the Chiefs a bad team?”

Ryan also noted the Giants’ last two Super Bowl teams, and their rocky road to a championship, while Maggie countered his Chiefs anecdote.
“But the Chiefs have been to back-to-back Super Bowls, so there’s a little grace period,” Maggie said.
New York’s season is off to a brutal start, but clearly Ryan takes exception to those who believe the season is already over.
“I don’t know why we didn’t win those three games,” Ryan said. “I don’t know. But I’m still encouraged enough…until you guys move me out of New York, I’m gonna believe and I’m gonna work hard, and I’m gonna encourage other people to do that. Even when things don’t go your way, so what? Are you gonna quit?”
