Tiki went through the other quarterbacks in Zach Wilson’s draft class, wondering which of them Evan would take over the Jets No. 2 pick.
When Evan said he would rather have Justin Fields over Wilson, Tiki almost had to hit the dump button.
“Oh, get the f---,” Tiki said, before cutting himself off.
“Of all the things I’ve ever said to you in three months, the only thing that made you almost drop an f-bomb and possibly attack me is that I prefer Justin Fields over Zach Wilson?” Evan said. “Justin Fields has had more moments of success, and led his team to more points than Zach Wilson has.”
Tiki clearly wasn’t as high on Fields as Evan.
“Justin Fields is the better athlete, because he rushed for 1,000 yards a year ago, but he’s hurt now, he’s unavailable,” Tiki said. “I think Justin Fields was bad until this year, and it’s really only been two games.”
Tiki was almost just as thrown when Evan needed to think between Wilson and Mac Jones.
“Are you thinking about this? Are you kidding?” Tiki said. “Look at him now versus where he was a year ago.”
Evan wouldn’t take Jones over Wilson for sure, but he did say it warranted a debate.
“With better coaching, and more weapons like Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall,” Evan said. “Would Mac Jones be the same incompetent mess that he is right now?”
