The offensive of the Jets’ two Michael Carters is on the board!
As you likely know by now, the Jets drafted two men named Michael Carter in this year’s draft, one a cornerback from Duke and the other a running back from North Carolina – and the latter scored the Jets’ first rushing touchdown of the season (and the first of his career) on this two-yard run late in the second quarter of Gang Green’s game with Tennessee:
It was slow going early on for the Jets overall, and that carry was Carter’s seventh of the game and 31st of the season as part of a three-back committee with Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson. However, it was big, bringing the Jets their first ground score of the year and their first touchdown of any sort since Week 1.
Carter, who was a fourth-round pick after being the All-ACC First Team back last season for the Tar Heels, came into Sunday’s game with 24 carries for 89 yards and five catches for 48 yards in three games, his best totals coming Week 2 against New England when he had 11 carries for 59 yards and two grabs for 29 yards.
